This design–build project replaced the conventional incineration method of solids handling where all the waste was hauled to a nearby landfill. The biosolids process converts the waste, producing a reusable fertilizer pellet. The customized biosolids facility has enhanced the quality of life for the community, providing a more environmentally friendly solution for solids disposal while operating more efficiently than conventional methods.
This project extended the building by 5 floors thus adding 33 new Patient Rooms and support areas. The Hospital remained in operation throughout the project including the Emergency Ambulance delivery parking. It includes a new Atrium area and expanded all of the building infrastructure. The Fire Alarm System was expanded to include the new areas. The project was coordinated using a BIM design environment.
